Hobby Holder Production and Shipping Updates

Hail Fellow Adventurers!

We have been hard at work over the last month getting orders placed, packing thousands of bottles caps and other goodies into bags, emailing and organizing so that everything is in place for shipping to begin!

Thanks so much to all the backers who made it to Las Vegas Open and stopped by the booth to say hi and try out the new parts samples. I will say the resounding response was "OMG they are amazing" ;D Also a HUGE shout out to one of our backers, Evan, who we got to talk with at LVO and then whipped up this fantastic drawing of one of his characters hard at work on a mini using their new Hobby Holder! <3 <3

If you will be there, be sure to swing by the Game Envy booth at Adepticon; we love meeting you all in person! We will have some amazing painters hanging with us, giving demos and answering questions. More on that soon :D

Survey Stragglers and Address Changes

If you haven't completed your survey to select parts and colors and give us your shipping information please do this ASAP. BackerKit surveys are about 95% completed status which is great, but that still means there are ~150 people who still have not completed the survey. While we ordered enough extra parts based on the % ordered we can't guarantee we will have all the colors in all the parts indefinitely.

If you already completed your survey but need to change your address, you should be able to log back into your survey with your link provided until shipping begins. When shipping begins we will lock the addresses and purchase the shipping labels. If for some reason you can't access your address please send me a PM with your KS email and new address.

Production Status

Over the past month deliveries have been piling up in my spot in the garage :/ and we placed the orders for all the Hobby Holder parts! The XL Stability Bars are off the line and shipping to us from the factory with the rest of the shipments arriving next week.

Big thanks to my mom and friends and family who have already started helping with the bottle cap and sticky-tak packing. At the end of fulfillment we will have sent out almost 30,000 bottle caps to you lovely folks all bagged with love ;D

We received the Miniature Knight minis which look fantastic and I just placed an order for another batch so we can have those available at gameenvy.net after fulfillment as well :D

Other than all the production tasks I have also been transforming the basement back into the ultimate Hobby Holder Painting Handle Fulfillment Center which is about 50/50 setting up the packing station and moving wooden train tracks out of the way.

NOTE ABOUT THE NUTS + BOLT: After putting together the samples and talking to testers and backers we decided to not pre-installthe optional two nuts however you will still receive them. We have to bag the bolt anyways (so it isn't rattling around in the package) and we will include the two nuts in the same bag and they can easily be installed in their slots if desired. It save us a lot of time on an optional-use feature so we can get the orders to you faster!

Shipping Information

With the Hobby Holder Ergonomic Grip, Threaded Base, Stability Bar and XL Stability Bar all arriving by the end of next week as well as the custom buttons and packing materials we are still on schedule for shipping to begin early March and we have no expected delays once shipping begins *knocks on wood* 

If you need to update your address please do so by early next week!

We will be sending out pledges daily not all at once, so please wait until we announce the last pledges have been sent (which we will here) before worrying that it was lost or something. At that point, if it is past your packages expected delivery date, let us know!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. We did a deep clean of the office so everything will be in place for the boxes and boxes of parts and packing material when they arrive. We will see how long it stays this clean XD

BackerKit Surveys

The BackerKit surveys to select parts/colors/add-ons have all gone out at this point. As of right now about 55% of the surveys have been filled out which is pretty good. If you have not received your survey yet you can visit to https://thehobbyholder.backerkit.com/ and put in your Kickstarter email address and it will get you into your survey. If you are experiencing any issues feel free to PM me.

Production Samples

This is really what you have been waiting for, but I needed to get the survey stuff said ;) Below are some shots of the new Ergonomic Grip and XL Stability Bar hot off the press!

They look great in the photos, but in person they look SO SHARP and they feel amazing. I will be sending out some samples to painters who have used the prototypes, and I will share their thoughts as well!

Surveys and Samples on the Way!

Hello Friends!

Thanks for holding tight while we got the surveys exactly right. With the original setup BackerKit would have been churning out more than 14,000 unique SKUs for the Hobby Holder combos (Black-Black-Black-Black, Black-Black-Black-Green, etc.). Needless to say this was NOT going to work for our sanity, so we found a nice solution where there is a reasonable 44 SKUs for the Hobby Holder parts that gets sent to us.

An initial 5% test of the surveys was sent out earlier today, and as soon as we see those are performing correctly the rest will be sent out. If you don't have your survey in your mailbox by this time tomorrow, check your spam... THEN shoot us a PM or Email :D

If you could fill them out as soon as possible we will be able to get the production order placed so we can stay on track for fulfillment.

Samples Are on the Way!

I will be posting an update either late tonight or tomorrow with photos of the final production samples! I have the Ergonomic Grip in hand and they look and feel amazing! The XL Stability Bars are on the truck and will be delivered by the end of the day today. I CANNOT WAIT TO SHOW YOU!!!!

Our community now includes more than 8000 painters across the world! Thank you for believing in me, Game Envy and the Hobby Holder. The support shown during this campaign was mind-blowing and I am so grateful to be able to contribute something to our wonderful hobby. With your help, we have made the Hobby Holder truly the world's most versatile, comfortable and precise painting holder and the ONLY all-in-one miniature painting handle and grip!

What Happens Next?

• Over the next couple of days I am finalizing all the complicated back end stuff and getting images loaded into BackerKit. Once that is complete, surveys to select your parts, colors and add-ons will be sent out.
• The BackerKit surveys are currently scheduled to go out this week. If you could fill them out ASAP we can get the production order placed with the injection mold company.
• We have already begun packing bottle caps, and more supplies and goodies are arriving daily. Once the Hobby Holder parts arrive we be able to begin fulfillment!

Final Color Unlocked | Custom Pin Art Sneak Peek

Not only did we smash through a lot of stretch goals we smashed through my expectations for the campaign :D Here is the final color option for the Hobby Holder's 4 parts bringing the total combos to 1,331!
